June member dance with Confluence is cancelled

We are sorry that we have to cancel this event, and we hope to have Confluence play for a dance as soon as we can resume normal activities.

Come early for ice cream, participate in the Hands Four annual membership meeting (all are welcome, whether or not you're a member), and then stay to dance to the musical duo Confluence, featuring Nadine Dyskant-Miller on flute and Barbara Dyskant on piano.

Nadine has been in demand for concerts and contra dances since 2005, adding foot percussion in 2006 after a workshop with Paul Marchand. She is known for her beautiful, versatile sound, pulsating rhythms, and breathtaking technique. She graduated from the University of Michigan School of Music as a composer and flutist, introducing students and faculty to traditional music while there. She also performs with the composers’ ensemble The Suburban Piano Quartet.

Barbara loves playing piano in almost every style and has performed traditional music since 2005. She is known for her creative melody lines, improvisation, rhythmic chording, and warmth. Starting as a classical student, she branched out into blues, Latin, and jazz, including her own nine-piece salsa band Madrugada.
